Giving Faq’s
Q: How can I give to the Columbia Congregational Church?
A: We currently have four ways for you to give.
- Online using our safe-secure site (Click Here)
- In-Person during one of our church services
- By Mail if you send your gift to PO BOX 177, Columbia, CT 06237
- Setting up an automatic bill pay through you banks website.
Q: Can I set-up recurring giving?
A: Yes! You can set-up recurring giving online with a debit or credit card or by using your banks online bill pay service to send a check to PO BOX 177 Columbia, CT 06237
Q: Will I receive a giving statement?
A: Yes! As long as you provide your full name and address when you give. Giving statements are sent annually and usually arrive in early January.
Q:Do I need a PayPal account to donate?
A. No, on the secure PayPal website you can use a PayPal account if you already have one or you can use a debit or credit card.
Q:Are there any fees or costs to donate online?
A. Not to you. The full amount that you choose to donate goes to the Columbia Congregational Church and is considered a tax-deductible gift. The church pays a fee of 2.2% + $.30 for each transaction which is why we suggest that PayPal be used only for occasional donations.
Q:How will I know my donation made it to the church?
A. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after you complete your donation. You can keep the email as a receipt for tax purposes. Your donation will also be entered into the churches financial record-keeping system.
Q:Can I designate how my donation is used?
A. Unless otherwise designated, your donation will go to support the General fund for the ongoing work and ministries of the church. If you wish to make a specific fund designation for your donation, click on the check box for “I would like to designate this donation to a specific fund”
Q: What security is in place for online payments?
A: We understand that you may be concerned about privacy and security issues surrounding the use of the internet for giving contributions. We’ve taken steps to give the best security possible. All of your information is protected by SSL, which ensures that your information is encrypted so no one can steal it when it is sent across the internet. When you register or log in to PayPal, we confirm that your browser is running Secure Socket Layer 3.0 (SSL) or higher, which secures the communication from your browser to paypal.com. When you give through PayPal, the church does NOT see private information such as your debit/credit card or bank account number.
Q: What if I still have questions?
A: Please feel free to contact us at ccchurch@snet.net and we’ll be happy to answer your concerns.
